Missing Child

You know...some days I think I could have a house full of kids. Just a ton of them, just love on kids all day every day. Then...reality slaps me in the face HARD! Real Hard!

So Jenna comes and rings the doorbell today and I tell the kids they can't play. Christian has homework, Lily has homework, and a science project. Just no, we have a lot going on today. So then I start thinking about it and sure Christian you can go play that will give Lily and I time to work on her project right. Then Caitlyn comes over just before 5...can Lily come play. No hunny I told Jenna already Lily has a project she has to do.
O, where is Jenna?
What? She should be with Christian.
Well, where's Christian?
WHAT?! They're not out there?
No...

Well about that time I hear Jenna's Nana calling for her. Ok cool they'll be home soon. So I go back inside. 15-20 minutes go by...still no Christian. So I walk next door.
Is Christian here with you?
No, we can't find Jenna either. They must have gone farther than they can hear...
WHAT?!
"ok. well if you see Christian can you send him home"
Yes, Caitlyn is going around the neighborhood looking for them.
ok i'll wait until Caitlyn comes back and if she doesn't have them I'll drive around the neighborhood and look.

So Caitlyn comes back by...no sign of Jenna and Christian. OMG! I am going to KILL Christian!
I turn the stove off, put everyone in the van, and start driving around. I drive around the neighborhood absolutely no sign of them...NONE! So I call Jacey to see if she had seen them. She said they went to her house about an hour ago (4) to see if Dylan and Hayden could play and were told no. Then they were gone. So I am on the phone with Jacey...losing my mind. She said hang on I hear kids. The people across the street from her had them in their backyard. So Jacey gets them and I send Christian home. I for real could have seriously injured that child. Thank God for Jacey or I don't think I would have found him until he decided it was time to come home. Which he told me was going to be after the sun went down or those people made him leave. I am not sure what was going through his head. To not even tell me he was going somewhere, and not only that but to not follow the rules of being allowed to play outside alone. Clearly he did not stay within the perimeter.

THEN! So, Lily and I worked on her science project all afternoon. ALL afternoon! So she wrote the words for her project first in pencil then she was tracing over that in marker. That way we knew it looked nice. So after dinner I tell her she needs to finish writing all the words on her poster. So she sits down and works for another hour almost. So at bedtime I ask her if she got her writing done. She said no. I asked how much more she had to do.
All of it.
All of it? What have you been doing?
She holds up her poster that we have worked all afternoon on. She has used the markers I bought for her to WRITE with and she drew a landscape and rain and umbrellas and rainbows all on her project.
SERIOUSLY!?! Seriously!!!!
I said where are you going to put your facts? Or your pictures to go with your facts?
IDK...

If this was a test from God...I failed. I failed miserably. I failed the mom test.
WHAT HAPPENED TONIGHT?
I just don't know. I am so very upset with tonight and all of the insane events that took place. I am going to bed. I will start again tomorrow.
